Cleft is currently optimised for English. Cleft incorporates the Whisper model for voice recognition and we do support 50+ languages.

For our multi-lingual users, it works like this:

  • You select your desired transcription/input language.
  • You may use custom instructions to output in your desired language.

For example, you might think in your own language, but want to send a note to your team that speaks in English primarily. That’s where our magic fieldbook can support you.

The Whisper model has been trained on 98 languages. The languages listed above have surpassed the industry standard benchmark of a < 50% word error rate (WER) for speech-to-text accuracy.

For languages not listed, the model can still produce results, but the accuracy may be lower.

We prefer to set expectations, rather than over-promise ✌️
