Add to Reflect daily notes from Cleft
One-click setup for daily note consolidation. Takes 2 minutes.
What It Does
This template uses a unique “Tag Attached” trigger for retroactive batch processing. Capture notes throughout your day, then tag them with “tasks” when you’re ready to consolidate into your daily note. All action items from tagged notes flow into a single Reflect daily note—perfect for morning planning or evening review rituals. How It Works (Batch Consolidation)
Unlike automatic templates, this one gives you control:1
Capture Throughout the Day
Voice record meetings, calls, and brainstorms in Cleft as they happen
2
Add Checkboxes
Include action items as checkboxes:
3
Save & Continue
Notes are saved for context. No immediate automation.
4
Review & Tag
Later (end of day, morning planning), tag relevant notes with “tasks”
5
Consolidate
All checkboxes from tagged notes append to today’s Reflect daily note
6
Single Action List
Your Reflect daily note shows all commitments in one place with source links

Time saved: 10 minutes (no manual consolidation or copy-paste)Example 2: Brainstorm Session → Implementation Tasks

- Weekly planning: Tag the week’s notes for next week’s priorities
- Controlled rollout: Spread action items across days by tagging strategically
Customization
Customize Daily Note Format
Customize Daily Note Format
In Zapier, you can customize how items appear in your daily note:
- Prefix: Add ”📋 From Meeting:” before each item
- Grouping: Group by source note title
- Timestamps: Include when the note was captured
- Source links: Auto-link back to Cleft (enabled by default)
Filter Which Notes Append
Filter Which Notes Append
Only certain notes should go to your daily note:
- Use the “tasks” tag for action items
- Create separate tags for different workflows (e.g., “reflect” for journal items)
- Filter by note title or content if needed
Time-Based Batching
Time-Based Batching
Create different workflows for different times:
- Morning planning: Tag notes from yesterday
- Midday check-in: Tag morning notes
- Evening review: Tag today’s notes for tomorrow
Checkbox Format
- Start with dash and space:
- - Empty brackets:
[ ](not[x]) - Each checkbox becomes a line item in your Reflect daily note
- Source link preserved for full context
Troubleshooting
Nothing appears in my daily note
Nothing appears in my daily note
- Zap is ON: Check Zapier dashboard
- Correct tag: Verify you’re using “tasks” tag
- Checkbox format: Confirm
- [ ] textformat - Reflect connection: Ensure Reflect is properly connected
- Check today’s date: Items append to today’s note only
Items appearing in wrong daily note
Items appearing in wrong daily note
The template appends to today’s Reflect daily note (when the Zap runs). If you tag an old note today, items go to today’s note—not the note’s original creation date. This is by design for flexibility (you can review old notes and add to today’s plan).
Too many items in daily note
Too many items in daily note
Only tag notes that have action items relevant to your daily plan. If you’re seeing too many:
- Be more selective about which notes you tag
- Use different tags for different purposes
- Create separate Reflect notes for different contexts
Can't see source links
Can't see source links
Source links are added automatically. Make sure:
- The Zap includes the “Source Note” field
- Your Reflect account supports links (all accounts do)
- Check the daily note in Reflect web or mobile app
