Editing Cleft Notes
Edit your notes in full markdown.
Editing a note
You can easily edit your notes once Cleft creates them from your voice.

Press anywhere on your active note, and you will see the note transition to the raw markdown is ready for editing

The format bar above the note area gives you quick access to common markdown formatting options
Edit your transcript
You might want to update something in the transcript such a a typo or the spelling of a name.
Maybe you want to fix a typo or spelling error, or want to trim down the thought to refine the note better.
To edit your transcript:
- Press anywhere in your editor to update your transcript
To finish editing your transcript:
- Press outside the note
OR

Press
done
on iOS devices or pressEsc
on Mac
When you make changes, this will regenerate the note in one of the following ways: -
Title, note and transcript
OR
- Transcript only
Please note, regeneration of notes only occurs when you are working from transcript view.
Deleting a note
Note deletion is a double-opt-in process, to ensure you do not delete notes by mistake.
Mac
Once you press delete, the file - including heading, note, transcript and original audio, is removed from all devices and our server forever.
You may delete a note by:
- Selecting the trashcan button on any note
OR
- Right-click on a note in the sidebar and press
Delete Note
OR
- Long-press on a note from your iOS device and press
Delete Note
